Reeds of London

Roots stretching back over 150 years.

Situated in prime retail space on the front row overlooking Waterloo Train Station, Reeds of London is a traditional family-run hairdressing business with roots stretching back over 150 years.

Project Explanation

Russell, the salon owner approached us with concerns that the salon was not reaching out to the emerging younger demographic of the Waterloo Business District. Small budget renovation to achieve maximum results.
The core concepts driving the design were, the economy of space, a high energy vibrant environment, and minimalistic integrated storage solutions while still staying true to the salons informal, friendly founding principles. Space was created to include another hairdressing point and reception to facilitate bookings.
Working within a limited budget, a full refurbishment was implemented, ceilings removed, old building features restored and bespoke furniture designed and installed. Solutions were found to add functionality and division of the space while still retaining the open plan layout.
