What comes to mind when you hear the word 'design'?

Expanding far beyond aesthetics, we at Remarcable mean a method of expression that communicates a story through strategy carefully tailored to magnify the micro details and fully optimize their attributes? capacity at creating a long-lasting impression in a single short interaction.

Detail is the queen in our Remarcable style. Applying a micro designing approach to interiors has proven effective in transforming spaces into memorable, authentic environments with the cultivated ability to function in a certain way. Under similar scrutiny of the detail, various architectural components such as lighting, accessories, furniture, partitions, accents, and texture go intertwining into a conceptual narrative with multiple selling points, highly appealing to our clients. And to celebrate the success of Remarcable designing fashion, centered around the detail, we invite you to virtually experience our latest creative outburst, Banning's iconic reception desk.

With a set deadline, our team was entrusted with the task to design a real 'wow factor' that demonstrates the ultra-modern take on dentistry that our clients at Banning Dental Group so enthusiastically and thoroughly demonstrate throughout their entire business model. Having understood that humans are 90% visual beings, and that visual memory is encoded in the medial temporal lobe of the brain, the same place where emotions are processed, Remarcable has set up the objective to capture all human senses in its artistic grip.

As the first thing people see and approach when they enter, and to guarantee that first impression lasts forever, exclusively for Banning Dental Group we designed a stylish bespoke receptionist desk in the shape of a tooth. And to say the least, this successfully evokes exactly how our clients imagined their visitors would feel upon interaction with space through our selected composition of visual and emotional stimuli.

Parametric design is a process based on algorithmic thinking that enables the expression of parameters and rules that, together, define, encode and clarify the relationship between design intent and design response; often connected with curving designs (such as this one). To create the 3D model of the desk design we used a Cinema 4D rendering program that allowed us to use the original image we had of a tooth, extend and manipulate its shape according to how we wanted it, structural shape, and size. This resulted in an accordion-like structure, created with multiple individually sized wooden slats that appear fluid in movement.

We faced a structural challenge, as usually with parametric design, horizontal lines (slats) are required in order to keep the stability of the structure - however, we were set on just the vertical slats to represent a row of teeth. This required some further engineering and planning to be able to create slots at the top of the structure to be utilised as the desk worktop holds itself up. We added perspex behind the slats so that the LED panels located underneath the desk create a luminous glow really defining the layers and shape of the desk. The colour of the desk is also a representation of white porcelain, similar to the which would be used on creating dentures or veneers.

Not only, through the use of parametric design, we were able to achieve an incredibly unique structure all based on the shape of a tooth and its organic curves and shapes. But we managed to embody in it the level of precision, accuracy, and attention to detail we apply to the approach and execution of our work. Once an out-stander, always an out-stander!

We take extreme pride in our enduring bespoke culture and continue to push boundaries with a self-invented eye for experimentation and innovation. Having understood the importance of detail in design, we always aim to take it one step further...creating a bespoke detailed design that it enables you to communicate your brand's values and culture to clients and customers. So, tell us about the message you want to convey, and let us get messy creating bespoke, impressionable design elements for your space that are long-lasting and unique - making your investment worthwhile as your business stands out from your competition!
